Another FA Cup campaign gets underway on Friday night under the lights with a home tie against fellow Pitching In Southern League Division One Central side Flackwell Heath. This match will be played at Beaconsfield Town FC kicking off at 7:45pm.
Aylesbury United will be aiming for an improvement to recent cup form which, last season saw us exit at this stage to Ardley United FC who scored late in the game to win 1:0. Flackwell Heath had a much better run reaching the 4th qualifying round.
Flackwell Heath were formed in 1907 where they played in the High Wycombe District League. The two sides met twice in the league last season, a 3:0 win for Flackwell Heath at Wilks Park and a 2:0 win for the ducks at The Meadow. There was little to separate the sides in the table with Flackwell Heath finishing one place and two points better off than Aylesbury United.
Both sides will be looking for a good start to the season and a run in the cup competitions will be high on the agenda. We are expecting Flackwell Heath to bring a good following given the distance from Beaconsfield so the lads will appreciate your support in what should be a highly competitive season opener. If the scores remain level after 90 minutes, then a replay will take place at Flackwell Heath on a date to be arranged.
