Amersham Town FC

On Saturday 11th July 2026 at 3:00pm, Aylesbury United FC will face Amersham Town in a Pre-Season friendly. 

Amersham Town FC, affliate to the Berks and Bucks FA, and nicknamed “The Magpies” were formed in 1890. They have played at Spratley Meadow since 1920 courtesy of local businessman Mr Brazil. In their early years they competed in the Wycombe and District league before becoming founder members Hellenic League in 1953, with later moves to the London and Spartan leagues. They secured a 99 year lease on their current ground In 1998 and have a partnership with Kings Church FC (youth set up).

Amersham currently play in the Cherry Red Records Combined counties premier division north finishing 19th last season (25/26). Fact for AUFC new fans Cherry Red Records sponsored Kingstonian FC during the 94/95 season where the famous Duck walk celebration was born!

Meetings between our two clubs have been some what rare given the short distance between us. Historically we have faced each other just three times with the Ducks winning all three! There have also been a few pre-season fixtures played! Two players to have worn the colours of both clubs included Dave O’Connor and James Weatherill.
