Confirmation of Share Purchase in Aylesbury United Football Club
The consortium behind the new Community Interest Company is delighted to confirm the purchase of a 49% shareholding in Aylesbury United FC Ltd from former Chairman Graham Read.
This landmark transaction means that Aylesbury United FC is now majority owned between 21CD Supporters Trust and the Community Interest Company, formally establishing the club as a community owned football club.
We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Graham Read for his dedication and leadership over the past 20+ years. His commitment to guiding the club through challenging periods and driving the search for a suitable ground back in the town has been invaluable. Our thanks also extend to 21CD Supporters Trust, whose continued support has been pivotal to the football club.
Over the coming weeks, we will be announcing the club’s new operating structure, which will consist of committees open to supporter participation. These committees will play a central role in shaping the future operations of the football club as we work towards our goals of moving up the non-league pyramid and relocating back to Aylesbury.
Over the last three months, we have demonstrated the opportunities ahead for our great club — hosting exceptional events, increasing attendances, securing new sponsorship, and supporting the management team to deliver improved on field performances. Further initiatives will be announced shortly, including enhanced pathways for local players.
We will be sharing more details at an open meeting planned for the end of May, and we look forward to meeting as many supporters as possible. Further information will be available via the club’s website and social media channels.
