Chairman's Update - August 2026

As we move into September, it has been a largely positive start to the season both on and off the pitch.

On the Pitch

Our FA Cup journey ended earlier than hoped, with a narrow but hard‑fought defeat to Flackwell Heath in a game that genuinely could have gone either way. This was followed by a 2–1 loss away at Potters Bar, a strong side recently relegated from Step 3, where the feeling was that we deserved more from the performance.

The Bank Holiday weekend produced one of the most extraordinary turnarounds in recent Ducks history. From 3–0 down to a 6–4 victory, the second half showcased a thrilling, free‑flowing brand of attacking football that will excite supporters throughout the season. We then secured a hard‑earned three points against Flackwell Heath, capped off by a superb strike from Frankie.

Return to The Meadow

Our time at Beaconsfield Town FC has now come to an end. I would like to extend sincere thanks to Chris, Peter and all the staff for their warm hospitality and for doing everything possible to make it feel like home.

We now look forward to returning to The Meadow, Chesham. Our next home fixture takes place on Saturday 19th September, when we welcome Royston Town.

Supporters & Attendance

We were delighted to see average attendances of over 275 supporters at Beaconsfield. With progress in the FA Trophy and our first league points secured, we hope to see even more fans backing the team this month.

If you require help getting to matches, please use the LiftShare WhatsApp group. Free Under‑16s season tickets remain available, and adult/concession tickets can be purchased online.

Facilities & Matchday Operations

The board recently visited The Meadow, and the pitch is in excellent condition — ideal for the style of football Paul Batchelor has the team playing. Additional parking has been provided to accommodate supporters.

There is currently no further progress regarding installation of the ANPR system; updates will be provided when available.

We continue to seek additional matchday volunteers to ensure the best possible experience for supporters. Roles include boardroom hospitality, stewarding and events management. 

Presidents Club

Club President Roger Simmonds is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Snell, Graham Read, Steve Baker and Brian Metcalfe as Vice Presidents. Each has served the club with distinction for many years. I look forward to meeting with Roger in September to set out our agenda for 2026/27.

Squad Update

The playing squad is settling well, with new additions integrating strongly into the first team. Chase, Ex, Baks, Ike and Will have all shown they can compete at this level, and we are delighted to welcome back George Cleveland following his impressive contribution last season.

We wish Harry Gallagher and Jordan Okwesa the very best as they move on in search of regular football.

Community & Events

On 29th August, supporters represented the club at Parklife 2026, running hook‑a‑duck and a tombola for local families. Despite challenging weather, it was a well‑attended and successful afternoon, with many people expressing interest in reconnecting with the Ducks.

This month we will support Aylesbury Town Council’s Heritage Week with a meet‑and‑greet at The Bell Hotel on 19th September, showcasing 129 years of club history through programmes, fanzines, memorabilia and photographs.
