Chairman's Update - June 2026

I hope you’re all enjoying the summer—although I know the heat hasn’t suited everyone. Football certainly hasn’t stopped, with the World Cup disrupting sleep patterns and fantastic attendance at the Juniors and Pan Disability events.

Chesham United 

Work on the pitch at The Meadow is progressing well with the levelling work completed and final cables and drainage being laid. Current expectations are that we will be able to return from the first week of September. Once the Southern League releases fixtures, we will confirm venues, dates and times for our August matches.

Committee

The committee structure for 2026/27 is now finalised, with board members assigned to each area. The board warmly welcomes supporter involvement—if you’d like to contribute, please email info@aylesburyunited.co.uk or speak directly with the relevant lead member:

The club are particularly keen to welcome volunteers for matchdays and events that will be organised in conjunction with 21CD throughout the season, please speak to Andy Martin for more information.

Squad Update

Pre-season training is underway, with retained players and trialists being put through their paces. Squad additions will be announced via the Gold Club WhatsApp and social media as registrations are confirmed with the Southern League. Player sponsorship will be updated as new signings are announced. The management team has invested significant time in building an effective pre-season programme to ensure we start strongly.

Summer Events

A team of volunteers will be representing the club at Live in the Park on 23rd August 2026. If you’d like to help on the day, please contact Nick Nelms.

Pre-Season Friendlies

With the season starting a week later than normal, there have been some minor changes to the pre-season schedule. The first game will be on Saturday 11th July at Amersham and an additional match against Hartley Witney has been arranged for Saturday 1st August.

Season Tickets

Following a strong response to season ticket sales, the club have decided to extend the 10% Early Bird discount (EARLYBIRD2026) until 31st July 2026. The code can be applied after selecting your ticket type. See link at bottom of these notes to purchase your ticket.

Media Team

The club have established a significantly expanded media team for 2026/27. Working closely with 21Ducks, they will deliver consistent, high quality coverage across the website and all social media channels—covering squad news, matchday programme, previews and reports, photography, interviews, events and club updates. I'd like to welcome Charlie, Leonor, Kristen, Matt, James and Ben to the Aylesbury United team.

Our new sponsorship brochure is now live, aimed at attracting vital commercial partners. If your workplace—or a business you know—may be interested, please share the link to our sponsorship brochure. Next month we will launch Every Goal Counts, a fun and accessible community focussed entry level sponsorship initiative. More details will follow shortly.

Community Partnership Program

Aylesbury United are delighted to welcome Men Walking and Talking and The Cancer Care and Haematology Fund as Community Partners.
