MK Irish FC

The Ducks travel to MK Irish FC on Tuesday 20th October kick off 7:45pm in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.

Milton Keynes Irish FC are one of the newer names in the local non-league game, having been formed on 1 June 2020 following the merger of Milton Keynes Robins, Unite MK and Milton Keynes Irish Veterans. The new club began life in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League and are based at Manor Fields in Milton Keynes.

Despite their relatively short history, Irish have made rapid progress through the pyramid. After their debut 2020/21 campaign was curtailed by Covid-19, they were promoted to the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division. They subsequently spent the 2022/23 season in the United Counties League Premier Division South before returning to the Spartan South Midlands League.

The 2023/24 season saw the club take another significant step forward, finishing second in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division and reaching the FA Cup First Qualifying Round for the first time. They qualified for the promotion play-offs but were beaten by FC Romania in the semi-final.

Better was to follow in 2024/25, when MK Irish were crowned Spartan South Midlands Premier Division champions, losing only one league match all season and securing promotion to the Southern League Division One Central. Now established at Step 4, MK Irish have quickly progressed from a newly merged community club into an increasingly familiar opponent on the Southern League scene.

This season MK Irish sit 8th in the league on 18 points from 12 games following a 1-0 home victory over Hadley on Saturday. The Ducks put in a much improved performance on Saturday but had little luck as we fell to a 3:1 defeat at fellow strugglers Biggleswade Town.
