On Monday 6th April 2026 at 3:00pm, Aylesbury United FC travel to local rivals Thame United in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.
Good Friday resulted in The Ducks losing 3:2 at home to Barton Rovers. The Bedfordshire side took a commanding 2:0 lead in a wind assisted first half and looked in complete control despite The Ducks starting on the front foot. A positive start to the second half was undone with poor defending and a thrid goal for the visitors, game over. Then Aylesbury sprang into life, scoring twice and unlucky not to get a point with a couple of goal mouth scrambles being stopped on the line.
Thame United are in good form in their bid to reach the play-offs. A 3:0 win away on Saturday confirmed Northwood's relegation and kept Thame in 5th place keeping up with the Biggleswade duo and a 6 point gap back to Hertford.
The reverse fixture resulted in an entertaining 3:3 draw in March following a late qualiser for Thame after The Ducks had led 2:0. Despite our defeat to Barton Rovers, the gap at the bottom remains 8 points plus a significant goal advantage for The Ducks after Rayners Lane managed a 3:1 victory over Enfield on Friday. The lads will be looking for a repeat performance to secure their place in the Southern Football League ahead of Legends Day.
