Ella East Memorial Cup

A message from Natalie

"In April 2018, our beautiful daughter, Ella, passed away at just 20 months old after living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). During Ella’s life, Helen and Douglas House became so much more than a hospice to us. They were our safe place.

They supported our family through emergency admissions when Ella became seriously unwell, provided respite stays so we could make precious memories together, offered support for Ella’s brothers, and were even there for us with emergency call-outs to our home when we needed them most. When the time came, they cared for Ella with such compassion, dignity and love during her final days, and we will never be able to repay everything they did for our family.

Sadly, hospices like Helen and Douglas House receive very little government funding and rely almost entirely on donations from the public to continue providing their incredible care. Earlier this year, the hospice also suffered a devastating fire, leaving substantial damage that will require significant funding to repair, making community fundraising more important than ever.

On Sunday 30th August, we will be holding Ella’s Memorial Cup to celebrate what would have been Ella’s 10th birthday. The day will bring together family, friends and our local community to celebrate Ella’s life while raising as much money as possible for the hospice that gave us so much."

Aylesbury United will be supporting this event by donating a mascot package and goodies prize to the raffle. We will also have a collection box available at our home fixtures in August.
