To celebrate Jack Wood’s remarkable loyalty and long‑standing commitment to the club, we’re thrilled to announce that a testimonial match will be held in his honour. Our sincere thanks go to Chesham, who have generously offered the use of their ground free of charge on Saturday 9th May. It comes the day after our end‑of‑season presentation evening, but Woody is more than happy with the timing, a perfect way to round off a weekend dedicated to recognising everything he has achieved for the club so far.

Match Details
Opposition: We explored the possibility of inviting a professional club, including Luton Town, where Woody played as a youth, and West Ham, but unfortunately neither was able to commit. After speaking with Woody, he chose a format that feels both fun and fitting:
This season’s squad, managed by Batch v A team of former players from Woody’s time at the club.
We’ve reached out to Glyn Creaser and Tony Joyce to manage the ex‑players. Crease is sadly unavailable, but Tony is keen to be involved and has already begun contacting former teammates.
Initial Plans for the Day
These ideas are still taking shape, and we’d love your help. If you can support in any way, or know someone who might, please get in touch.
Sponsorship: We’re looking to secure a match sponsor, match ball sponsor, programme sponsor and hospitality sponsor. If you or your business would like to be part of the day, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Programme: We plan to produce a special matchday programme, similar in style to the one created when Woody broke Cliff’s record, but with expanded content to mark this milestone occasion.
Admission: Standard league‑match prices will apply, and we’ll encourage advance booking through the online system - more information will be available shortly.
Mascots: Junior players and young supporters will be invited to take part as mascots.
These are just the early plans, and we’re keen to build a small organising group to help make the day truly memorable for our club legend. If you’d like to be involved , or know someone who would, please let me know.
